Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf party chief Imran Khan got married for the third time to his spiritual guide Bushra Maneka. This has ended rumours going around since last couple of weeks. The political party took to Twitter to share pictures from the marriage function. It was a simple ceremony in Lahore on February 18 at Bushra Maneka's brother's residence.
Bushra Maneka, also known as Pinki Pir is the third wife of Imran, cricketer-turned-politician. He was earlier married to Jemima Goldsmith in 1995 and TV anchor Rehman Khan in 2015. While his first marriage lasted for nine years, the second marriage went hit the rocks in just 10 months. Imran has two sons from his first marriage with Goldsmith.
Reports say that Khan met Maneka about a year ago for spiritual advice and got closer to her when some of her political predictions became true. Bushra took divorce from her husband to contract marriage with Imran. It is also being stated that Imran was under pressure to reveal his marriage because strong rumours were doing rounds and it could hamper party's performance in general elections.
Last month, in a tweet, he asked his supporters to pray that he finds ''personal happiness which, except for a few years, I have been deprived of''. The occasion of happiness for Imran Khan turned into a tweet fest as Twitterati cannot contain their thoughts on Imran's third marriage. Check out how Twitter is responding
