New Delhi, Dec 11: YouTube has updated its application for Android tablets as well as its mobile website. In an official blog post, Waldemar Baraldi and Dan Delima, software engineers at Google, announced the new YouTube Android tablet app saying that it will offer a 'refreshed YouTube experience'.

The new YouTube Android tablet app comes with a 'Guide' that allows users to have easy access to their favourite channels, while showing ways to discover new ones.

The mobile site - m.youtube.com - has been refreshed for the tablet experience too. It features the same Guide containing user subscriptions and easier controls for sending videos from one's tablet to the TV.

The new version (v4.2.16) is available for Android 2.2 and beyond and is available through Google Play Store. If you have already YouTube app on your Android tablet, you would in all likelihood get a notification on your tablet too.

YouTube recently went in for a simpler, cleaner look with most crucial elements placed at the front and centre while viewing a video. The video itself is placed right at the top of the page, whereas the subscribe button, social actions and video information are put together combined below the player.

Users can view the playlists that are available to the right of the video, allowing them to browse through while watching.

Users will also be able to find the Guide and subscriptions on apps across several millions of devices, including Android, iPhone, PlayStation 3, Google TV and more.

YouTube also gets automatic captions in videos in six more languages. The automatic captions are now available in German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Dutch, along with English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish added earlier.
