New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country's largest passenger car manufacturer, is all set to launch the hatchback WagonR Stingray on August 21.
The new model seems to be a successor of WagonR with some changes on the exterior and the additional steering-mounted audio controls and the complete black color look.
On the outside, the car offers sporty look and has a bold front fascia that makes it look more masculine. It now slim head-lamps and tail-lamps with clear lens units, along with a flat front bonnet, a slimmer chrome grille, an all-new bigger bumper, four grey-finish alloy wheels among others.
Under the hood, the model is expected to carry the same three-cylinder 67bhp 1.0-litre K10 series motor in the current WagonR.
On the inside, there is black upholstery, high quality floor mats, an advanced audio system, electronically adjustable optical rear view mirrors, projector headlights, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and airbags.
Though there's no official word about the price or the availability of this new car, according to reports, the hatchback's price in India could be around Rs. 4.10 lakh.
The WagonR Stingray is likely to be offered in three variants: LXi, VXi and VXi option pack. The safety pack will offer ABS, driver airbag, audio controls on steering wheel, projector headlamps and electrically adjustable ORVMS.
It will be positioned above the current WagonR, much like the Grand-i10, Indica-Vista and Micra- Active.
