Jaipur: The third edition of the international trade fair on Textiles and Apparel ‘VASTRA 2014' will be held here from October 29.
Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO), with Ficci as co-organiser, is organising the three-day fair at Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre, Sitapura Industrial Area, 15 km from here. Textiles Ministry is also extending cooperation to it.
A MoU between RIICO and FICCI for organizing ‘VASTRA-2014' was signed by Veenu Gupta, Managing Director, RIICO and Vinay Mathur, deputy secretary general, Ficci, May 28, 2014 in the presence of C S Rajan, Chairman, RIICO & additional Chief Secretary (Infrastructure). In the last edition of ‘VASTRA' held from October 3-6, 2013, 202 exhibitors, 421 foreign buyers from 66 countries and 43 Indian buying houses showed their presence. Besides Rajasthan, states of Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh also participated as Partner States. The event, basically on B2B format, witnessed 5,336 buyer- seller meets and generated business worth USD 69.30 million.
‘Vastra' started in 2012, is now a prominent fair globally.
Managing Director RIICO a fortnight a back had taken an interactive session with industry players. Textile Apparel Community is keenly looking forward to participate in ‘Vastra 2014', according to an official spokesman today.
