New Delhi: Korean carmaker Hyundai has come out with an update of its popular small car Eon by launching the new 1.0 Eon Magna at Rs 3.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The update includes an all-new 1.0l dual VVTi motor which makes 69PS and 94.1Nm of power and torque respectively. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual box and the Eon 1.0l is available only in the Magna Plus variant. Based on customer demand, the company decided to come up with a bigger engine to give a peppier drive experience to the younger lot of buyers.
From outside the new model has not received any major design upgrade. The car retains the 170 mm ground clearance, which is 10 mm extra than the Alto 800's ground clearance, ensuring a smoother drive on patchy roads.
The current Eon is powered by a 814 cc engine that delivers 56 PS and 7.6 kgm. It was launched in October 2011 in six variants.
The Magna 1.0 comes with features such as air conditioning, power steering and power windows, immobilizer, keyless entry and 13” steel wheels with full wheel covers. However, Eon Magna will not come with a music system.
The new model competes against the likes of Datsun Go and Chevrolet Spark.
