Greater Noida: BMW has launched the all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo in India at the Auto Expo 2014. Locally produced at the Chennai plant, it will be available at BMW dealerships across the country from March this year.
The new model will be available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in the following four metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant and Sparkling Brown. The car will cost Rs 42,75,000 (ex-showroom.
The new BMW 3 series GT is a longer, wider and taller version of the 3 series that promises the versatility of an X3 and the interior space of a 5 series. The BMW 3 Series GT is 110mm longer than the saloon, which means more legroom for the rear seat. The boot is bigger and electrically operatable. The rear seats can be split 40:20:40 and folded down to increase the already sufficient boot space to an enormous 1600 litres.

The vehicle is powered by a 2.0 litre BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine that has a max power of 135 kW/184 hp and an impressive torque of 380 Nm. The company claims that the sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr takes 7.9 seconds and top speed is 226 km/h.
The all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo comes with an active rear spoiler, which is automatically deployed at 110 km/h and retracted at speeds below 70 km/h. The model also comes with the so-called Air Breathers that are integrated into the vehicle's flanks, that reduce turbulence in this area and reduce the car's aerodynamic drag.
On the outside, the model looks stylish with a powerful front end, a stunningly stretched silhouette with coupé-style roofline, frameless side windows and a flowing rear end with large load aperture.
On the inside, the model ensures first class comfort. The fine-wood interior trim with Pearl Chrome accent lines and countless chrome inlays, create an exclusive atmosphere that blends seamlessly into the exquisite overall design.
The all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo also features the BMW Driving Experience Control switch, which enables the driver to choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions. (Comfort, ECO PRO and Sport).
