28 per cent citizens yet to deposit old currency in bank: Survey

A new survey reveals that around 28 per cent of citizens are yet to deposit their old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes in the bank and plan to do it before December 30.

A new survey reveals that around 28 per cent of citizens are yet to deposit their old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes in the bank and plan to do it before December 30. 

The survey conducted by LocalCircles, a community engagement platform, reveals that 60 per cent people have indicated that they have already deposited their old currency in the bank. 

The survey was conducted across 150 cities in India in which over 800 citizens participated.

Approximately 8 per cent people said they don't need or want to deposit the old notes while the remaining 4 per cent said they will be using the old notes where they are being accepted.
