Jaya Parvati Vrat 2022: Date, Mahurat, Do's and Don'ts to follow during the auspicious event

According to the Panchang, Jaya Parvati Vrat starts from Trayodashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month and continues till Tritiya of Krishna Paksha. It started at 11.13 am on Monday and will end the next day on July 12 at 07:46 am.

Pradosh Vrat is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Also known as Vijaya Vrat, this fast is considered very important in Hinduism. It is observed mainly by married women. It is observed on the Trayodashi tithi of Shukla Paksha, of Ashadh month. 'Jaya Parvati Vrat' is observed by married women and unmarried girls. This year Jaya Parvati Vrat is being celebrated on Monday, July 11, 2022. 

On this day unmarried girls and married women make an elephant of sand and offer 5 types of fruits, flowers and prasad on it for 5 days. They worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. This fast lasts for 5 days.

Jaya Parvati Vrat Shubh Muhurta 

According to the Panchang, Jaya Parvati Vrat starts from Trayodashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month and continues till Tritiya of Krishna Paksha. It will start at 11.13 am on Monday and will end the next day on July 12 at 07:46 am. 

Do's and Don'ts to follow during Jaya Parvati

On the day, women get up early in the morning at Brahma Muhurta and first take a bath and clean the place of worship. Install the idol of Lord Bholenath and Mata Parvati in the temple, then worship by offering kumkum, roli, sandalwood, flowers.

Offering coconut, pomegranate and other items on this day gives the full benefit of fasting. While chanting the mantra Om Namah Shivaya while remembering Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. 

Do not consume salt items even by mistake on the day of Jaya Parvati Vrat. Grains and vegetables should not be eaten on the day of Jaya Parvati Vrat. 

Sweets made from fruits and milk can be eaten during Jaya Parvati Vrat. During the end of Jaya Parvati Vrat, after worshiping in the temple, the fast concluded by eating salt, roti made of wheat flour or poori and vegetables.
