JNU row: SC to hear Kanhaiya Kumar's bail plea today

 

The Supreme Court will hear today the bail plea of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar, who has been arrested on sedition charges.

 His bail petition has been mentioned before a bench of Justices J Chelameswar and AM Sapre. In the petition, filed through advocate Anindita Pujari, Kumar claimed his innocence. He has submitted that there is a threat to his life and there was a need for the apex court to intervene for safeguarding his life and limb.
