Asus Zenfone 5Z starts receiving Android 9.0 Pie update

Asus had launched the Zenfone 5Z last year in July that came with Android 8 Oreo out of the box and now has started receiving the Android 9 Pie software update.

Asus has started rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie update for Asus Zenfone 5Z. Asus had announced about the update on Monday, wherein users will start receiving the update in the coming weeks. The update will bring in new features that will offer better hardware performance for users.

Asus had launched the Zenfone 5Z last year in July that came with Android 8 Oreo out of the box and now has started receiving the Android 9 Pie software update. The update includes an all-new contextual pop-up volume bar along with the Magnifier feature, which aids making copy-and-paste easier.

In order to download the update, users will be required to tap on the notification bar and as soon as the download is over, users will be required to install the update from the pop-up notification. Once done, the phone will reboot, wherein one shouldn't fiddle with the phone till the reboot is complete. Make sure there is sufficient battery in the phone before you plan on downloading the update. Users can also go the setting options and check for the update by clicking on the System update menu. Note that the Android Pie (v9) FOTA update will be rolled out in batches.

Looking back at the specs of the phone, the Zenfone 5Z comes with a 6.2-inch full HD+ display that comes powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, backed with  Adreno 630 GPU with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and 8GB RAM 256GB storage that can be expanded to 2TB. It gets a dual rear camera setup at the back that includes a 12 Megapixel primary camera along with the 8 Megapixel secondary camera with Dual-LED dual-tone flash, while on the front would be the 8 Megapixel front-facing camera.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z gets dual speakers, rear-mounted Fingerprint sensor and a 3300 mAh battery with 18W fast battery charging.
