Frankfurt (Germany), Jul 4: Eintracht Frankfurt defender Martin Amedick is seeking help for burnout, ruling him out of action indefinitely.

The 29-year-old Amedick informed Frankfurt management of his condition and will not train while undergoing the appropriate therapy, the Bundesliga club said Wednesday.

“We're aware of our responsibility for the health of our players and will strongly support Martin Amedick,” Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Huebner said.

A date for the player's return can be set only after further treatment.

Amedick is the latest player to seek treatment after the suicide of Hannover goalkeeper Robert Enke in November 2009 following a bout of depression.

Former Frankfurt striker Martin Fenin received treatment for substance abuse and depression last October, Ralf Rangnick resigned as Schalke coach because of burnout in September, and Hannover's reserve goalkeeper Markus Miller said in May 2011 that he would undergo therapy for mental exhaustion.
