Chennai, May 21: Kochi Tusker player Sreesanth had invited his ex actress Surveen Chawla from Mumbai to cheer for him during the match her  on Wednesday night against Chennai Super Kings, but the Dhoni-led team won.

Surveen, a media report said, had flown down from Mumbai to not just watch the match but also spend some time with the fast bowler.

Surveen and Sreesanth  became friends during a dance reality show on TV. Since then, the two hit various city nightspots almost regularly, forcing the media to eventually declare the K-soap star and the bowler 'more than just friends'.

Though the two had drifted apart, looks like they are now looking forward to revive this friendship.

The report quoted a source:  "Surveen was in Hyderabad for an event when she got a call from Sreesanth. He wanted her to come and cheer for his team in Chennai.

"Surveen went there and checked into the same five star hotel where the cricketer was putting up.

"She reached Chennai on the 17th and on the same night had dinner with him at the Rooftop restaurant there. The couple sat there till around 1 am.  On the day of the match, Surveen was entering the restaurant when the team members were leaving in the team bus.

"Sreesanth was saying something to Surveen in sign language to the amusement of his fellow cricketers", the source added.

But of course, it did not end at sign language.

"After that, Surveen was seen at the special Kochi box cheering for him. At the post match party, Sreesanth and Surveen were seen dancing with Dhoni, Raina and Parthiv.

"They were even seen cozying up. They returned to Mumbai last evening. Surveen is all set to have a trial of her hit Punjabi film Dharti in Mumbai and Sreesanth is expected to be there," added the source.

Says Surveen Chawla, "Yes, I was in Chennai to cheer for Kochi. Sreesanth invited me and we have been friends for a long time and have always been in touch. I was there to support a very dear friend. That's it."
