Port Elizabeth:  Graeme Smith says South Africa has arrived for the second cricket test against Australia in the hot and humid south coast city of Port Elizabeth without too much mental “baggage” from its heavy defeat in the first game.

The skipper says the top-ranked team has done its best not to be weighed down by a 281-run mauling in the series opener, with Australia quick Mitchell Johnson completing destructive figures of 12-127 at Centurion four days ago.

Smith says there has not been any extra focus from the home team on Johnson's fierce fast bowling, which has taken test cricket by storm over the last few months, as it is “important not to get caught up in the hype.”

Smith adds on Wednesday “Centurion is behind us, now we're in Port Elizabeth.”
