New Delhi: The loss at the final of the world T20 against Sri Lanka has dashed a million hopes of cricket fans of team India. Slow Start: The opening pair of Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma were not able to provide a strong start in the beginning. The dismissal of Rahane in the second over hampered the scoring rate of the Indian batsman. Ineffectiveness of Rohit Sharma – Virat Kohli: After the dismissal of Rahane , Virat came to the crease and he along with Rohit were also not able to score freely. The pair concentrated much on taking singles and to hit boundaries later.The duo made 60 runs from 54 balls.This ploy boomeranged as Rohit got dismissed after being settled and Kohli did play a good innings but he was deprived of getting strike due to some very good bowling by the Sri Lankan bowlers.Impressive death overs bowling by Lankan Bowlers: The Sri Lankan skipper Lasith Malinga bowled an impressive last two overs. He was well supported by fellow bowler Nuwan Kulasekra. It was evident from the fact that even hard hitters like Yuvraj Singh was finding it extremely difficult to put away the Sri Lankan bowlers.The Indian batsmen were able to score just 21 runs in the last five overs. Sri Lanka made a good start: Inspite of losing an early wicket, Sri Lankan batters Dilshan and Mahela maintained a good run rate. It was evident from the fact that the duo put on a 41 runs stand in the first six overs of the powerplay.Mahela who was playing his last international T2o match played some exquisite shots during his stay at the crease. Solid Sangakara: Another Sri Lankan veteran who was also playing his last T20 international made sure that the Lankans do not lose another final. He along with Thisara Pereara made sure that they carry on their team to the doors of the victory.The duo did not gave the Indian bowlers any chance as they had put on an 32 ball 56 runs partnership between them. Sangakkara played a memorable knock of 52 runs which also earned him the man of the match for the final.
