Ranchi: The 4th ODI match was today called off after continuous rains stopped play.India, chasing a target of 296 set by the Aussies were 27 without loss in 4.1 overs when rains interrupted the game.

India, chasing a target of 296 set by the Aussies were 27 without loss in 4.1 overs when rains interrupted the game. Shikhar Dhawan (14) and Rohit Sharma (9) were at the crease.

Earlier in the match, Captain Goerge Bailey(980 and  Maxwell (92) batted brilliantly to help Australia post  295-8 after they lost three quick wickets against India in 4th ODI of seven match series here Wednesday.

Came as underdogs, Australia seemed to have learnt the trick how to bat on Indian tracks after new induct Mohammad Shami removed openers Aaron (5), Phil Hughes( 11) and Shane Watson (14).

Last match hero james Faulkner remained unbeaten on 23 and through out his inning he looked subdued as wickets kept falling at regular interval. Only mitchel Johnson (25) game him some company.

Earlier India, making two changes in the side,  won the toss and put Australia into bat in a overcast condition. The decision to bring in pacer Mohammad Shami paid off immediately he consumed both openers and than Shan Watson in a quick succession.

After losing 4 wickets for 71, Bailey with Maxwell put on 153 runs for fifth wicket to steer Australia out of trouble.

Bailey's 98 off 94 included three sixes and seven fours whereas Maxwell's 92 off 77 studded with  five sixes and 6 fours.

For India Shami was the most successful, bowler taking 3 for 42 in his 8 overs. Vinay Kumar and Ashwin shared two wickets each.

The 5th ODI will be played at Cuttack on 26th October 2013.
