Mumbai, May 25: India TV has transcripts of the three-hour long interrogation of BCCI chief Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan on Friday night by Mumbai Police crime branch.


The transcripts reveal how Meiyappan, after stonewalling most of the questions, ultimately confessed that he was involed in IPL betting since last year and lost a lot of money.

Meiyappan also  admitted that Vindoo sent him models from Mumbai, with whom he shared time in Kodaikanal. He denied this initially, but when Crime Branch officials showed him the plane tickets, hotel bookings and the models' statements, Meiyappan hanged down his head in silence.

The transcripts reveal Meiyappan confessing that he placed bets in at lest 8 matches in the current IPL6 tournament. He also admitted he had been placing bets since last year and had lost a lot of money running into several lakhs of rupees.

He admitted he placed bets on his team Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians and Hyderabad Sunrisers.

Meiyappan also admitted small-time actor Vindoo Dara Singh had booked a five-star hotel rooms for two bookies Pawan Jaipur and Sanjay Jaipur, and on that day, he rang up Meiyappan at least 25 times.

Meiyappan, known in bookies' parlance as Guru, because of his name Gurunath, had also deposited money in bookie Kothari's bank account.

When Crime Branch officers confronted him with Vindoo's revelation that he had supplied models to him, Meiyappan displayed anger, but when he was shown the plane tickets, hotel bookings and the models' statements, he hung down in shame.  

Meiyappan then confessed how Vindoo sent the models from Mumbai to Chennai, who were then transported to Madurai, and from there, they were taken to hsi friend's farmhouse in Kodaikanal.

Crime Branch: Did you ever place bets in IPL through Vindoo?
Meiyappan: No
CB: Do you know Vindoo?
M:  I know him.
CB: How did you know him?
M: I met him at a post-match event part of Chennai Super Kings.
CB: when?
M: In 2010.

(There were 40 questions prepared, but more than 100 questions were ultimately asked, both in English and Hindi)

CB: Did you meet Vindoo after the party too?
M: Once or twice.
CB: Did you invite him to the VIP lounge during the Mumbai Indians vs CSK match?
M: Yes.
CB: Why?
M: I knew him, I got his call and I said, yes.
CB: You say, you met Vindoo only once or twice, how is it that more than 260 calls were made between you and him, with 25 calls in a single day lasting 2 minuts to 10 minutes.
M: This is incorrect.

(The interrogation went on for nearly three hours)

CB: Do you know Pawan Jaipur and Sanjay Jaipur?
M: No, I don't know them.
CB: Did you know, Pawan Jaipur and Sanjay Jaipur were trying to flee Mumbai?
M: No Idon't knopw.
CB: Do you know Vindoo was helping those bookies flee from Mumbai?
M: I don't know.
CB: The day these bookies were fleeing, they and Vindoo spoke to you?
M: No.

(Eight crime investigation unit officers were taking down notes, even as the interrogation was being recorded on audio.)

CB: Did you place bets in IPL through Vindoo?
M: No
CB: Did you know bookies had sent a gift hamper to an IPL umpire  at Delhi?
M: No, I don't know.
CB: Did you eer meet Vindoo in Mumbai?
M: No, Vindoo is trying to fix me.
CB: Why is Vindoo trying to fix you?
M: I don't know.
