Melbourne, Mar 16: Veteran wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has been granted leave from Australia's cricket tour of the West Indies and will return home for personal reasons.

"New South Wales wicketkeeper/batsman Peter Nevill will join the squad in coming days and Brad's return will be determined in due course," a Cricket Australia statement said Friday.

Matthew Wade replaced Haddin as Australia's limited-overs wicketkeeper during the Australian summer, but Haddin was named to the Australia test team on Wednesday and was expected to be retained for the first test against the West Indies beginning on April 7 at Bridgetown, Barbados.

Wade is now expected to be selected for Australia's opening one-day match against the West Indies in Kingstown, St. Vincent, on Friday.

"Brad Haddin is in transit returning to Australia for personal reasons and has the full support of CA ... and his teammates in so doing," national selector John Inverarity said. "We hope that Brad will be able to rejoin the squad in the West Indies in the not too distant future."
