Raipur:  Describing his team's performance against Northern Knights as "disappointing", Cape Cobras skipper Justin Ontong said the South African side lacked the intensity which resulted in their defeat to New Zealand side here on friday.

"They got off to a fantastic start. We didn't field well. We did not take our chances. If we would have taken that it would have been a different story. I am just bit disappointed with our team performance," Ontong said in the post match conference after losing to Northern Knights by 33 runs (D/L method) in the rain-interrupted match last night.

"I just think that our intensity was not right up there. This team (Northern Knights) had played quite a few games here, so intensity was right up there and they put us under pressure from the start," he added.

Praising Kane Williamson's blistering knock of 101 runs off 49 balls, Ontong said, "A century in 20-20 is a special knock. He batted well. Its not to many big shots he played but just proper shots, it's a classical inning from Kane."

On a query on how the team looks to play further in the absence of Proteas star bastman JP Duminy after a bad start, he said," JP is not here. We just got to make sure we bounce back in the next game."
