New Delhi, Nov 8 :  The BCCI today refused to react on the court verdict that set aside the life ban on former cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin, saying it will analyse the judgement before taking any decision.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court, allowing Azharuddin's appeal against the order of a local court, which had upheld the decision of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said the ban was “unsustainable”.

However, senior BCCI official Rajiv Shukla said they would not react until their legal team looks at the court judgement.

“Our legal team will analyse the judgement. Then only we will react,” Shukla told reporters.

Pushed further, Shukla said,”I can only say that the legal team we will be allowed to analyse the judgement, only then we will take a decision.”

Azharuddin was banned by the BCCI in year 2000 on the charges of match-fixing.

The decision to ban him was taken on the suggestion of a three-member committee comprising its erstwhile president A C Muthaiah and two vice-presidents Kamal Morarka and K M Ram Prasad.

The cricketer-turned-politician said he will not take any legal action against the BCCI and also did not blame anyone saying what has happened had to happen.
