New Delhi: The final One Day International (ODI) match between India and South Africa  at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai turned out to be a run fest as the South African batsmen took a special liking to the Indian bowlers.

Three South African batsmen among the top four scored a century and registered the highest total by any team on Indian soil.

South Africa today scored 438 runs in the stipulated 50 overs in which opening batsman Quinton de Kock scored a blistering knock of 109 runs from 87 deliveries.

The Indian bowlers had no respite since Faf du Plessis took over to register his first ODI hundred against India. du Plessis made 133 runs from 115 balls before leaving the ground retired hurt.

To add salt to the injury, the world's most destructive bastman at the moment AB de Villiers scored a quick fire 119 runs from just 61 balls.

It is only the second instance in the history of ODI games when three batsmen from a team scored a century.

The earlier record was also made by the South African team when the Proteas scored 439 runs against West Indies at Johannesburg on Jan 18,2015 during the second ODI between the two teams.

It was the match in which AB de Villiers scored the fastest hundred (in 31 balls) in an ODI match breaking the earlier record of Kiwi batsman Corey Anderson who achieved the feat in 36 deliveries. de Villiers scored 149 runs from just 44 balls.
