There's no stopping Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the ICC No.1 ODI batsman is close to breaking another record set by the great Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli has been a record-breaking machine since his debut in international circuit and now he has a chance to overhaul Tendulkar's tally of maximum runs against West Indies by an Indian batsman in One Day Internationals.
'Run Machine' Kohli has scored 1387 runs against Windies in just 27 ODIs while Master Blaster is on the top of the list with 1573 runs in 39 matches. India are slated to play five ODIs against the Caribbean side and that means that the explosive batsman just needs 186 runs in these five matches to overtake his idol, Tendulkar.
The Indian skipper has been in great form this year and there are high probabilities that he will overtake Tendulkar in the list. Kohli has scored four centuries against West Indies, the same amount Tendulkar's has under his belt.
The other players on the list are Sachin's former teammates Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly. 'The Wall' has scored 1348 runs in 40 matches while 'Bengal Tiger' is on the fourth position with 1142 runs in 27 matches.
Former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is going through a rough patch with the bat has a decent record against the Windies. The 37-year old will be aiming to join the elite list of players who have scored 1000 runs against the Caribbean side. He is just 101 runs short to join Tendulkar, Kohli, Dravid and Ganguly on the list.
It will be a make or break series for former skipper as many questions have been raised on his contribution towards the team with the bat.
With Rishabh Pant's inclusion in the ODI squad against Windies, it is expected for him to play with the bat and leave the wicketkeeping to Dhoni.
