New Delhi: Narendra Modi today chose to ignore Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's sharp attack on him on Friday in which he was accused of “presiding over mass massacre of innocent citizens on streets of Ahmedabad” in 2002.

At an event organised by Baba Ramdev, Modi hardly touched on Singh's onslaught against him except for a tangential reference to allegations levelled against him.

“When these days people level baseless allegations at me, I look back (at my life) and think how great this country is and how great its people are who have lifted a ‘chaiwala' (tea-seller) on their shoulders... There is no place for disappointment for a man who has lived this life,” he said.  Singh had at a press conference said that it would be “disastrous” for the country if Modi were to become Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister was, however, at the receiving end of the attack by Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley.
