Lok Sabha polls: Congress to announce 200 candidates by Feb 10

New Delhi: The Congress party will announce its first list of 200 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections before February 10, sources said. The decision regarding all the sitting Congress MPs in Lok Sabha

The party high command has already set up state screening committees for all states and union territories on January 9.

The Himachal Pradesh state committee has forwarded the list of 21 probable candidates to the high command. These include the names of Raghubir Bali, son of Transport Minister G S Bali and Chander Kumar from Mandi constituency.

From Hamirpur, there are 9 applicants including former chief minister Ram Lal Thakur, Rajinder Rana, Ram Chand Pathania, Arun Thakur and Des Raj Gautam.

From Shimla are eight contenders including sitting MLA Mohan Lal Bragta, former MLA Sohan Lal, Vinod Sultanpuri, Namita Chowdhary, Sunder Singh Banolta and Om Prakash Kataria.
