New Delhi: Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today for the first time hit out at Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party, saying they were "backstabbers" who ditched a man like Anna Hazare.

Addressing BJP election meetings in the capital, Modi said, "Congress may be looting with a single hand, but these guys will use the broom to sweep off the loot for themselves".

Describing Aam Aadmi Party as a "Congress-run show", Modi said: "The entire nation stood with Anna Hazare whn he staked his life against corruption, but seeing his crowds, some of them nursed political ambitions.

"For their personal political ambitions, these people stabbed Anna in the back. Jo Anna ke nahin huye, woh aapki nahin ho sakte (Those who ditched Anna, can also ditch you). Aise logon se bachke rahna  (Beware of such people).

"The Congress loots with its hand, these people sweep off with their broom. Beware of them", cautioned Modi.
