New Delhi: Providing security for an election to conduct fair polling remains the biggest challenge for police. Political parties are working tirelessly to woo the voters in their favor and at the same time Delhi police officials are making security plans for full proof security.

The elections in Delhi are usually calm and non-violent and Delhi Police would like to maintain that. To maintain the law and order on the polling day, para-military forces would also be deployed. If required, home guards from UP and HP would also be called on.

Delhi police commissioner BS Bassi said that all the restaurants, wine shops and hotels have been alerted to keep a watch on the large sale of liquor.

The police are more alert than ever considering the recent communal tensions in Trilokpuri and other localities. Recent vandal in Vasant Kunj's church is also keeping the police on its toe. The administration is trying its best to maintain the peace in the sensitive areas with cooperation of peace committees.

In the elections this year, the number of sensitive polling booths has been increased by 50%, where extra police force will be deployed. Police is also looking for the polling stations where the boundary wall is missing.
