New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his dissatisfaction with party MPs over their lack of efforts in exposing the negative tactics of Congress at grassroot levels.
In a bid to intensify the party's public outreach, Prime Minister on Tuesday asked all MPs to spend a night in each Assembly segment of their Lok Sabha constituencies between now and the next session of Parliament. He asked Rajya Sabha MPs to also visit a Lok Sabha constituency other than their own, preferably which didn't send a BJP MP.
"This ‘jan sampark', or mass contact, campaign will help the party expose the Congress campaign to malign its leaders," PM said during the BJP parliamentary party meeting.
"If you had done it (exposing Congress) effectively, public would have made the Congress realise this. That is why you all need to intensify your efforts to expose Congress," ET quoted PM Modi as telling to BJP MPs on Tuesday as he reminded them of the last monsoon session when they were asked tofan out to different parts of the country to expose the Congress' negative tactics against the government.
PM also emphasised on the need to intensify their campaign against the Congress, pointing out how "false" charges have been levelled against party leaders like Sushma Swaraj, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje, and now Jaitley, to "defame" the government in the eyes of the public, the daily reported quoting its sources
Prime Minister also advised MPs that as part of this exercise, they should also seek the views of people on the Budget-making, and return with inputs for Budget 2016. The MPs were asked to contribute with big picture ideas, rather than specific requirements of a particular constituency, like a road or a school.
In his last address to the BJP MPs during the winter session, Modi asked them to intensify public outreach in the next two months (January and February) before the budget session to xpose the Congress' diversionary tactics.
