Uluberia (WB), Apr 21 : BJP President Nitin Gadkari tonight blamed the ruling CPI(M) for West Bengal's continued “saga of undevelopment”, citing Bihar and Gujarat as models of development.

“Look at the turnaround story of Bihar where Nitish Kumar has effected a welcome change. See how Gujarat is progressing under Narendra Modi. And compare this to the continued saga of undevelopment in Bengal for the past 34 years,” Gadkari said at a public meeting here.  He claimed people of the state were now fed up with the over three-decade long Left Front rule.  On the infiltration issue, Gadkari said a huge 3.5 crore Bangladeshis have illegally crossed over to Bengal “in connivance with the CPI(M)”.

“This government is responsbile for all these ills having plagued Bengal and still wants to be back,” Gadkari said. The BJP heavyweight also castigated the UPA at the Centre for the series of scams which caused “plundering of crores of public money,” and criticised Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee for being part of the alliance.  He said BJP could be the right alternative for Bengal.PTI
