Vijayawada: Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu yesterday said BJP will win majority of seats in states of Jharkhand and Jammu & Kashmir where Assembly elections are being held.

He also targetted the Congress leadership saying the “defeated party” may not revive under them.  “BJP will also emerge victorious in upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar and West Bengal. The party is also planning to penetrate into south and the northeast,” Naidu said addressing party workers after launching the BJP membership drive here.

“BJP won majority of seats in almost all parts of north, central and western India in Lok Sabha elections, which shows that BJP has a strong presence in these regions. We will definitely win majority of seats in both Jammu & Kashmir and Jharkhand,” the senior leader said.

Taking a swipe at Congress leadership without taking names, Naidu said, “the people have already thrown away Congress and that party may not revive under current leadership.”

Naidu said people have huge hopes in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that he will fulfill their aspirations.  “Modi will definitely transform the nation as ‘Vishwa Guru' (leader of world).

In a short span of six months, Modi proved his talent at international conventions and became an important personality among world leaders,” the minister added.

Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and other senior leaders participated in the membership drive.
