Lucknow, March 22: The BSP hit out at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, terming him "Mr Laptop" and "Mr Clean", and asking him to take care of the law and order before it gets too late.

Leading the charge, Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Swamy Prasad Maurya told the chief minister that many people in his government were out to fail him and cautioned that his political career would be over if he did not take matters seriously. Maurya is a senior Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader.

Alleging that the officials had lost the fear of the chief minister, Maurya said there were parallel power centres in his government and it was due to this that the state was in the throes of chaos and lawlessness.

Moving a cut motion on the budget for the home department and general administration, Maurya took a dig at the frequent transfers of officials in the state and noted that despite 50,000 transfers of officials at various levels, the state was far from seeing stability and progress.

"It is sad that despite repeated overhauls, you have failed to deliver," Maurya said while slamming the lack of coordination between different wings of the state government.

He also pointed out that only three members were there in the state information commission and the rest eight posts were lying vacant.

The BSP leader also accused the chief minister of abject failure in maintaining communal harmony in the state and referred to the 27 odd communal riots and flare-ups that have rocked the state in the first year of the Samajwadi Party's (SP) rule.
