Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharati travelling with party senior L K Advani, former party chief Rajnath Singh and party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad to Raipur in a special plane on Wednesday sparked speculation about her return to the fold soon.

The BJP leaders travelled to Raipur to attend the last rites of Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh's father, who passed away recently.

While BJP has decided on taking Uma back, the party is in no hurry to do so especially after its Madhya Pradesh unit reportedly raised objections on her return.

Many state leaders don't have happy memories of the time when Uma became the chief minister after routing the Digvijay Singh-led Congress.

Some BJP central leaders are also uneasy over the prospect of the homecoming of a leader who has the uncanny ability to connect with the cadre but is not very respectful of hierarchy.

Besides individuals' misgivings, the BJP is also mindful of the problem that Uma's homecoming might pose to MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Not confirming speculation about her imminent return, party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said the party had "no information" on the matter.

"There is no information on anybody. There is nothing to talk about yet. We will inform you as soon as we have something," Sitharaman said.
