  • Gautami and Kamal met for the first time on the sets of their movie Apoorva Sagodharargal in 1989 which was a huge hit. The two were said to be close friends since then. Gautami had also revealed that she has been an ardent fan of Kamal Haasan before she stepped into showbiz.

  • It was reported that Kamal got into an illicit affair with Gautami while he was married to Sarika. This apparently became one of the reasons behind the actor’s divorce with Sarika in 2004.

  • Kamal and Gautami made their relationship official in 2005 when the couple moved in to stay together.

  • The two refused to marry each other because of lack in faith in the institution of marriage.

  • Meanwhile, Kamal’s name was also linked up with a young actor Simran ans it was rumoured to be an intimate relationship. However he returned back to Gautami soon after the rumoured passing affair came to an end.
