The Duke and Duchess said they “were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.”

The hoax call came from Austrlia's 2DayFM radio, and the DJs obtained intimate details about Kate.

Prince William and his pregnant wife Kate said, they were 'deeply saddened' by the tragedy. Australian PM Julia Gillard offered her condolences to Jacintha's family saying it was a 'terrible tragedy', but there has been no move for any action against the DJs.

Jasintha, also known as Jess, came to the UK from Goa  more than 10 years ago and settled here with her partner, 49-year-old hospital accountant Benedict Barboza.
