Here we present a list of ten such controversial figures from Pakistan:1. Mubashir Luqman He is the host of Kharaa Sach, a talk show on the Pakistani channel ARY News.He stirred a controversy when his off-air discussion with real estate tycoon Malik Riaz whom he was about to interview on air in Dunya TV was leaked on the internet. He was accused of running away from the country to avoid a judicial probe into the interview scandal.2. Shoaib Akhtar Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been involved in several controversies during his career.Akhtar was sent home during the Test match series in Australia in 2005 for behaving rudely. A year later, he was embroiled in a drug scandal after testing positive for a banned substance. However, the ban imposed on him was lifted on appeal before a court. In September 2007, Akhtar was banned for an indefinite period for his fight with his Pakistan team mate and fast bowler Mohammad Asif. On 1 April 2008, Akhtar was banned for five years for publicly criticizing the Pakistan Cricket Board. In October 2008, the Lahore High Court in Pakistan suspended the five-year ban and Akhtar was selected in the 15-man squad for the Twenty20 Quadrangular Tournament in Canada. Veena Malik is a Pakistani actress, model and comedienne. She got the maximum attention after the controversy resulted in Pakistan over a nude image of Malik on the cover of FHM magazine India edition in which she had “ISI” written on her upper arm. Since then she keeps doing some or the other stunts to be in the news headlines.8. Mehar Bukhari She is a television host at Dawn news channel. She has attained reputation as an outspoken and influential anchorperson in Pakistan. Mehar came in the limelight when a fake footage was telecast in her program in which Taliban lashed out a young tribal girl publicly for indulging in illicit relationship with a man. The program gained reputation much but became controversial when the video was declared a fake.In 2011 when she was the hostess of political show “News Bea” , her photos with an CIA official in US surfaced on internet and social media that caused dent to her credibility for the first time with her gestures shown in snaps. Babar Awan Zaheer-ud-din Babar Awan is a Pakistani lawyer, politician, author, analyst and columnist who served as the Law Minister of Pakistan from November 2008 to April 2011. He is a former Vice President of the Pakistan Peoples Party. He has been involved in many controversies. In November 2009, National Accountability Bureau of Pakistan summoned Awan after he was accused of taking bribes worth of 30 million Pakistani Rupees from the owners of the Haris Steel Mill in order to get a favorable verdict from the court. Awan was reported to have said that he had certainly not taken 30 million rupees and that the money he had taken was his professional fee.10. Malik Riaz Hussain Malik Riaz is a Pakistani business tycoon and founder/chairman of Bahria Town.He started his career as a clerk at the age of 19. Today he has over $800+ million worth of assets.He is the main accused of the DHA valley Islamabad scam in which his company collected tens of billions of rupees (USD 500–700 million) from 67000 people of Pakistan from middle and lower middle classes.
