Sydney: An Indian-origin engineer in Australia has been fined $2,000 and ordered to be deported after he pleaded guilty to stalking his employer's daughter, a media report said.
Indian-born Abhinav Singh, 33, who holds a Canadian passport, swamped the young colleague with hundreds of text messages, phone calls and voice messages in Queensland's Glad stone city and elsewhere despite warnings from police, Gladstone Observer reported on Monday.
Mr Singh pleaded guilty before the Gladstone Magistrates Court to stalking the woman between July 14 and August 28.
"I am guilty, I plead guilty," Singh was quoted as saying during the hearing.
Prosecutor Nina Sulzer told magistrate Mark Morrow that the man professed his love saying: "I have now officially declared a war to get ***** at any cost."
Ms Sulzer said the woman never expressed any romantic interest in Mr Singh, but he went through office records to get her mobile phone number.
Mr Singh twice went to the woman's family home and argued with her father, telling him he officially declared war.
"She (the victim) believes he was living in fantasy land. She was in no way romantically inclined toward him and she sought the assistance of the police," Ms Sulzer said.
In response to a police email asking him to stop all contact with the woman, Singh said he would continue to pursue the woman until he got a message from her stating she did not love him.
