Ahmednagar, March 22: The Army's Vehicle Research and Development Establishment here, in collaboration with Tata Motors, has developed a Rs 27-crore worth bulletproof anti-terror vehicle that can withstand any bomb or grenade attack.

Three army jawans can sit inside, and there are four openings to fire at terrorists.

The 3-tonne heavy vehicle has a camera inside which can  survey upto a distance of 50 metres.

This vehicle can easily enter roads, lanes and crowded places.

The vehicle runs on battery and has tyres meant for tanks.

VRDE checks each and every vehicle that runs on India's roads by conducting 45 different tets and then issues a certificate.

The VRDE has also developed the prototype of a Drone aircraft which can keep watch on infiltrators near  India's borders. Controlled through computers, its operational radius is upto 15 km only.
