Jalgaon, Oct 19 : In a reminder of actor Dharmendra's famous way of protesting on a tank top in Hindi film ‘Sholay', some villagers took the same route in support of their demand for regular water supply.
At least 60 people from Shivpur Kanhale village in Bhusawal tehsil here climbed atop a water tank yesterday while about 190 others sat under it to press for their demand of water supply to the village, that is facing water crisis since some time, eyewitnesses said.
A gram panchayat member was also one of the agitators.
The locals demanded that the power connection to the village, which had been cut off due to alleged non-payment of bills, be restored to allow the water tank to be filled, so that they could get the supply.
Their protest continued today also.
