New Delhi: Ten new cases of swine flu were reported in the national capital today, taking the total figure to 108 this year.

The Union Health Ministry said that government has placed an order for procuring 30,000 doses of antiviral drug oseltamivir to treat a potential outbreak in the country.  Officials from Health Department of Delhi government also maintained that they have enough stocks of the medicine.

Health Ministry officials said there was no cause for panic and infection would diminish once the mercury rises.  “There are ten positive cases out of 108 tests conducted today,” said N Das, member of the Committee constituted by Health department of Delhi government to review swine flu cases.

Three persons have so far died due to swine flu in the city.

Health department has nominated 11 District Surveillance Officers (DSOs) who have taken stocks of the medicine and also checking whether standard operating procedures for treatment of HINI cases are being followed by hospitals.

Government is also in the process of adding four more laboratories, two each in private and government sectors to the existing eight laboratories (five private and three where one can get them tested for H1N1).
