Chandigarh: Punjabi students of Aryans Group of Colleges today organized a charity meal for students of Jammu and Kashmir staying in Chandigarh.

The langar (charity meal) was open not just for students of the host college but for all Kashmiri students irrespective of their college.

The students, staff and management of the college has contributed for the langar.

The effort is aimed towards helping J&K students studying in different parts of the Tricity, who are facing a tough time as their pocket money and monthly allowances from their parents have been stopped after their native state got hit by floods.

”There are many students in the Banur-Rajpura belt who haven't received pocket money due to floods in J&K. Some of them don't even have enough money to travel to the college,” said a student.

The ‘langar seva' that started 4 days earlier has become a regular spot for many Kashmiri students who are otherwise finding it tough to go ahead with their daily routine.

”We are very happy with this initiative of the students and now many of Punjabi students and other states students are ready to continue this langar for J&K flood-affected students,” said Aryans Group chairman Anshu Kataria.
