Mumbai:  Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt will surrender to Mumbai Police on April 18, sources close to the actor said. On April 18, the four-week time limit given to the actor will be over.

The Supreme Court had given a five-year jail term to the actor, out of which he has already completed 18 months. Dutt will complete the remaining three and a a half years in jail, if the appeals for pardon are not accepted by the Governor.

Sanjay Dutt arrived  in Guna, Madhya Pradesh on Saturday  morning along with his brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav in a private plane from Mumbai, to offer prayers at the Devi Peeth temple.

Soon after his arrival, the star left along with Kumar and others by road for a darshan at the Devi Peeth in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh.

Although Sanjay's visit was said to be a private one, a number of his admirers gathered at the local air strip to catch a glimpse of him.

He was dressed in a kurta and dhoti. The actor is likely to return to Mumbai in the evening.

The actor's plane was unable to land in Gwalior or Jhansi as some training was being conducted there and the air strip at Shivpuri was not thought to be safe, official sources said.
