PM holds meeting of Nuclear Command Authority, takes stock of nuclear arsenal

New Delhi: The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has taken stock of India's nuclear arsenal at the meeting of the "political council" of the Nuclear Command Authority (NCA) attended by top ministers, National Security Adviser




The triad will be completed only after INS Arihant becomes fully operational.

INS Arihant will be armed with 75-km range K-15 misslies for "deterrent patrols".

Recent estimates by international nuclear watchdogs and reputed think tanks reveal that Pakistan has a total of 70 to 90 nuclear warheads compared to India's 60 to 80. China, in comparison, has around 240 warheads.
