Jammu: Pakistan Rangers targeted 30 Border Security Force (BSF) outposts in J&K's Samba district in overnight firing.

The BSF jawans strongly retaliated to the Pakistani firing, reports said, adding that the firing spreads to neighbouring Hiranagar, Kathua and Ramgarh sectors.

Six civilians are reported to be injured in the overnight firing by Pakistani side.

Yesterday also, the Pakistani troops indulged in indiscriminate shelling and firing to target over a dozen villages and BSF outposts along the international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Pakistan Rangers used mortar shells and heavy weapons to target over a dozen villages and BSF outposts along the border in Samba district," the official said.

In the evening, ceasefire violations by Pakistan resumed in Hiranagar in Kathua district and the Samba sector.

"The targeted outposts include Khoada, Mangu Chak, Ragal, Challyarian, SP 4 and Malu Chak in Ramgarh sector. The BSF gave an effective response and heavy shelling and firing was still on," the official added.
