New Delhi: A driver Nandu Kumar Ram worked the whole day on an empty stomach on Friday, and at night he went to a Dena Bank ATM in South Delhi's posh Safdarjang Enclave to withdraw money in order to have his meal.
Inside the ATM, he failed to withdraw the cash, but as he tried to make his exit, he found the glass door of the ATM cabin locked.
A frightened Nandu then rang up all the helplines mentioned by the bank inside the ATM, but none responded. Ultimately, he rang up 100 and called in Delhi Police.
The policemen who arrived in a Gypsy found the ATM door locked. They tried to contact the Bank staff, but failed. Inside the AC was working and Nandu, wearing a shirt, was shivering.
Finally, police broke open the glass door of the ATM and rescued the driver.
