In memory Sayyed Peer Haji Ali Shah Bukhari who was  wealthy Muslim merchant and gave up all his worldly possessions before making a pilgrimage to Mecca the Haji Ali Dargah was constructed in 1431.

In the ancient Persian Empire (present day Uzbekistan) Hailing from Bukhara in the early to mid 15th century Bukhari travelled around the world and then settled in Mumbai.

With the Mughal architecture of the period the structure has white domes and minarets reminiscent.

The Haji Ali Dargah is a renowned pilgrimage site among the Muslims and even Non-Muslims are also allowed to visit the Dargah.

This white-coloured structure attracts visitors in large numbers and around  About 10 - 15 thousand devotees visit the Dargah daily.
