Know about Delhi's builder Deepak Bhardwaj

New Delhi, Mar 26: The journey of Deepak Bhardwaj's life is a typical rags-to-riches story. Twenty years ago, he was working as a clerk in the Delhi government's flood control department.At that time, there were rumours that he tried to grab government land to enter the fast lane. Gradually he became a builder, setting up DG Malls, and undertook a township building project in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. His wife, Ramesh Kumari, a teacher, set up the Shiksha Bharati Public School near Dwarka, Delhi. Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan's wife Gauri's cousin sister Priyanka Tiwari is married to Deepak Bhardwaj's younger son Nitesh. The elder son Hitesh is involved in real estate. Deepak Bhardwaj was born in a farming Brahmin family near Sonepat, Haryana. HE studied in Hindu High School, Sonepat, and secured National Scholarship after scoring first division in matriculation exam in 1967. He also worked for NCC, Arya Samaj and Bharat Sevak Samaj and studied in DAV College, Jalandhar. He later migrated to Hindu College, Sonepat and then completed his graduation from Delhi University in 1973. He organized discourses for Tihar jail prisoners during the tenure of DG Prisons Kiran Bedi. His wife, Ramesh Kumari Bhardwaj, who used to work as a school teacher, set up Shiksha Bharti Public School in Dwarka, which also owns agriculture land worth Rs 100.35 crore.The Bhardwajs have two sons: Hitesh and Nitesh. Hitesh looks after construction activities and is married to an ex-Army Colonel's daughter. Nitesh is a hotel management professional, and is married to Gauri Khan's cousin sister. To get international exposure Deepak Bhardwaj went abroad as a business entrepreneur to Canada. There he ran two hotels near Niagra Falls, Canada from 1998 till 2004 and in the process became an NRI based in Toronto. Deepak Bhardwaj established contacts in over 100 villages of Delhi. In most of these villages he owns farm land and assets.Bhardwaj developed a number of farmhouse colonies in and around Delhi and procured land for big industrial houses and developers for setting up industries and colonies. His company, Delhi Apartments Pvt Ltd is part of Deepak Group of Companies, based in New Delhi and Rishikesh. DAPL is now building a Deep Ganga township near Haridwar and a few hotels and motel in and around Delhi. The Nitesh Kunj hotel, where Bhardwaj was assassinated, is a 28-acre four-lawn complex, which has a banquet hall space of over 35,000 sq feet, and a 40-room hotel within the complex. The Shiksha Bharati Public School was set up in Sector 7, Dwarka. It is a senior secondary public school employing 150 teachers and other staff. It is run by Bharadwaj's wife Ramesh Kumari, born in Delhi. Her father was a school headmaster. Ramesh Kumari graduated from Jamia Millia Islamia university in 1974.Deep Ganga Township is a mini township located in Sector-5A at the foot hills of Haridwar, barely 8 Kms. inside NH-58 from Bhadrabad.
