Kejriwal warns Delhi Police, demands suspension of 2 SHOs, 2 ACPs

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today angrily warned the Delhi Police to take action against people accused of dowry torture, sex and drug rackets, or face the wrath of the people of Delhi.

"The entire law and order in Delhi is  Bhagwan Bharose (in the hands of God). The police officials are clearly in cahoots with dowry torturers and sex and drug traffickers", said Kejriwal.

"Delhi Police has been completely compromised in such heinous matters. If no accountability is set, rapes, drug trafficking and dowry deaths will be on the rise.

"I want to ask you (reporters) , did these two Delhi ministers had enmity against the SHOs? Don't you yourself think that the people of Delhi are unhappy with policing. Just wait, we will show you, what we can do", said Kejriwal.

Asked why he did not contact the Delhi Police Comissioner B S Bassi directly, Kejriwal said, the police commissioner is busy today and he is in Jalandhar.

Earlier, Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti narrated the events that took place last night in South Delhi's Khirki Extension.

Bharti said, during his regular meetings with his constituents, he had been getting complaints of sex and drug trafficking going on rampantly in that area.  Last midnight, I got a call saying Nigerian and Ugandan sex workers and drug traffickers have been seen. I went there with my supporters alongwith a Delhi Police gypsy.

"I asked the policemen in Gypsy to keep their sirens and beacons switched off. There were many cars in which African girls and drug traffickers were sitting. Most of them fled, and we caught hold of two women. In a building opposite, sex racket was going on rampantly. We asked police to arrest the sex operators, but they refused.
