Vajrai Waterfall (Maharashtra) The Vajrai Waterfall is just 27 km from the city of Satara. It is situated near the Sahyadri hill and Kas plateau region. The Vajrai waterfall is one of India's tallest waterfalls. Its height is around 1,840 feet (560M); due to this, the Bhambavali Village has become very special. Thousands of people come from all over Maharashtra to visit this place, especially during the rainy season. During the entire season it has a great flow of water. Langshiang Falls (Meghalaya) The Langshiang Falls is located near the village of Sangriang, 24 kilometres from Nongstoin, in West Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya. It can also be seen from Mawpon village. The total height of the falls is generally quoted at around 337 metres (1,106 ft). However, that needs to be confirmed. Nongkhnum Island, the biggest river island in Meghalaya is 10 kilometres from Langshiang Falls. 5. Nohkalikai Falls (Meghalaya) Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plungewaterfall in India. Its height is 1100 feet (335 metres). The waterfall is located near Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. It is also the fourth largest waterfall in the world. Nohsngithiang Falls (Meghalaya) The Nohsngithiang Falls is also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls and the Mawsmai Falls. It is located 1 kilometre south of Mawsmai village in East Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya. It is a seven-segmented waterfall, which plunges over the top of limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills. The falls only flow during the rainy season. In full spate, the segments stretch most of the way along the cliff. The water falls from a height of 315 metres (1,033 ft) and has an average width of 70 metres (230 ft). In the Sohra area, there are several waterfalls because of the heavy rainfall The cascading Nohsngithiang waterfalls at Mawsmai, the hauntingly beautiful Nohkalikai Falls, and the Dain Thlen Falls. Dudhsagar Falls (Goa) Dudhsagar Falls is a tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the state of Goa, on Goa's border with the state of Karnataka. It is 60 km from Panaji. Legend has it that a beautiful princess lived in the forest (near present day, Dudhsagar Falls) where there was then a palace. She loved and enjoyed bathing in a lake nearby and used to drink "sweetened milk" from her "Golden Jug" after finishing with her bath. One day while enjoying her jug of milk she found herself being watched by a prince, who was standing amongst the trees. Red with embarrassment at her inadequate bathing attire, she poured the jug of milk in front of him to form an improvised curtain to hide her body, while the maids rushed to cover her with her dress. And it is said that, it is that sweetened milk that cascades down the mountain slope to this day as tribute to the virtue and modesty of the Princess, as the "Dudhsagar Falls". The falls is in the border of Karnataka and Goa and the roads leading to it are maintained by the Goa Forest Department, and are closed in the rainy season. The roads are again opened from the month of October. At its base, there is a small pond. One can bath but in their own risk. There are also fishes in the pond and the water is very cold, even in the afternoon. The Waterfall is located inside the Bhagwan Mahavir Wild Life Sanctuary at Collem in South Goa along the western Ghats. 8. Kynrem Falls (Meghalaya) The Kynrem Falls is located 12 kilometres from Cherrapunji in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. It is situated inside the Thangkharang Park. The Kynrem Falls is a three-tiered waterfalls, with water falling from a height of 305 metres (1,001 ft). 9. Meenmutty Falls (Kerala) Meenmutty Falls is located 29 km from Kalpetta in Wayanad District in the state of Kerala. It is a three-tiered waterfall with a height of 300 metres. The Meenmutty word says it is where fish gets blocked. Meenmutty is a combination of malayalam words Meen (fish) and Mutty (blocked). Meenmutty Falls, the largest and most spectacular waterfall in the Wayanad District, is a 2 km hike though the jungle from the main Ooty Road. It is Kerala's second largest waterfall and the one most unspoiled in its natural setting. Each of its three tiers requires a separate hike through a moist, deciduous forest. The path is quiet dangerous and tiresome, but the waterfalls are worth it. There are various Meenmutty falls in Wayanad. One of them is present in the property of a resort called Banasura Hill Resort. One has to take a deviation at Vellamunda village and go via Pulinjal to reach the Meenmutty falls present there.10. Thalaiyar Falls (Tamil Nadu) Thalaiyar Falls, also known as Rat Tail Falls is located in the Palani Hills of Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu. It is 975 ft (297 m) tall and is the highest waterfall in Tamil Nadu and the 267th highest in the world. On a clear day Rat Tail Falls is visible from the Dum Dum Rock viewpoint on the Batalugundu-Kodaikanal Ghat Road, 3.6 kilometres away to the west. It appears across the valley as a long thin white strip of cascading water on a background of black rock cliff face that juts out of the foothills. The very edge at the top of the Falls has a low concrete wall on either side concentrating the flow of water to focus the falls into a better rat tail shape. One can walk along the wall and get near the center of the falls. Just below one wall is a large flat rock about 5 ft (1.5 m) wide. One can get down to the edge of the rock to look directly straight down to see a little river at the bottom continuing placidly through the forest. Looking back up to the side, one can watch the water in freefall, mostly silent. The noise of the crashing water below doesn't rise up. The only noise is the water pushing around the stone walls, and some smaller falls just upstream. The river water coming to the falls, though 9 km downstream from Perumal Malai village and apparently clear, may be polluted, and visitors to the area are advised to avoid drinking it.
