Chandigarh: The Haryana police has handed over to the CBI all files relating to allegations of castration of disciples by Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Insaan.

While disposing of the petition moved by one Hans Raj Chauhan, a victim of castration, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had last month ordered CBI probe into the case. Two teams of CBI investigators had been put on the job to collect details related to the case.

The CBI has started preliminary investigations into the allegations of castration.

Haryana Police Sirsa HQ DSP Jagdish Kumar said, a team of CBI sleuths, headed by inspector Arvind Kumar, was given the documents.

"They had asked us as if we carried out the investigations. Besides providing the details we also gave them the documents related to seven persons who have complained," the DSP said.

Sources in CBI confirmed that the process to register a preliminary enquiry against Gurmeet Ram Rahim is already underway.

CBI is going to record statements of all victims who have alleged that they have been castrated on orders of Dera Sacha Sauda head.

CBI officials have been approached by seven such alleged victims who recorded their statements before the Haryana Police. They had , however, refused to undergo  medical examination.

On its part, Dera Sacha Sauda has rubbished all charges of castration as false and baseless.

The CBI will file its status report  before the High Court on March 2.

It may be recalled that the Dera Sacha Sauda chief had extended political support to the BJP in the recent assembly elections in Haryana leading to an overwhelming majority victory at the hustings.
