New Delhi, Oct 29: A buffalo that had been brought for 'qurbani' (slaughter) inside the Pakistan High Commission premises on Eid ul Azha on Saturday suddenly ran amok causing frantic phone calls to Delhi Police.

The Chanakyapuri police station received two phone calls saying that a buffalo has run amok, but when police reached the High Commission premises, they were not allowed to enter.

The first PCR call was received at 4:13 pm on Saturday. A sub-inspector and a constable reached the spot, but the High Commission gates were not opened.

Another PCR call came at 6:34 pm. The SHO alongwith police personnel went to the High Commission, but the gates were not opened again.

The Pioneer reported that the buffalo was brought to be slaughtered on the occasion of Eid-ul Azha but, the high commission staffers lost control of animal, which managed to loose its string and created a ruckus inside the premises.
