Bardhman: Several people were reported missing after a boat carrying around 150 passengers capsized in the Ganga river in West Bengal's Bardhman district.
The boat was going to Shanti Ghat from Kalna late on Saturday
Meanwhile, rescue operation is underway. Many passengers have been rescued by the local people. The boat reportedly capsized as it was carrying 150 people against its capacity of 60-70 people.
Delay in rescue efforts by authorities led to angry protest by the agitated crowd. Protestors set on fire one boat parked at the bank of the river.
