In a shameful incident from Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow, the relatives of the bride held the groom hostage and allegedly tonsured because he refused to marry the bride. According to accounts from the bride's side, the groom had demanded motorcycle and gold chain as dowry. 

The bride's grandmother told news agency ANI; "he made these demands five days before the wedding. He refused to marry after we said we can't fulfil them. But we do not know who tonsured his head".

Meanwhile, police have begun investigation into matter.
